(Great Spangled Fritillary on Purple Coneflower)
Despite the heat, we had a wonderful turn out for our July 5, 2025 open garden! Over 300 persons visited Catchfly Commons! We met many first time visitors and reconnected with returning friends. The growing interest in native plant gardening is so heartening!
We want to thank:
- Native plant nurseries, organizations, and individuals for promoting the open garden
- Delaware County Master Gardener Volunteers for helping with the welcome table, parking, and refreshments
- North Central Ohio Pollinator Pathway for being present with their information table
- Our daughter (cookie creator extraordinaire), son-in-law, and grandson for providing many facets of hospitality
The following week we had two times for folks that do weekly tree/nature walks led by Mort Schmidt (quite knowledgeable). Between the two groups we had another 30 visitors.
With much gratitude for the diverse life and community that surrounds us…
