Our presentation at the monthly meeting of the Columbus Natural History Society has two parts. The first part provides an overview of the Asteraceae family then delves into the various genera of Ohio native coneflowers, asters, and goldenrods. The second part addresses gardening for biodiversity and sustainable beauty with these plants. This involves attention to ecological services provided, garden design considerations, and garden maintenance. The presentation incorporates macrophotography from the Litchfield’s property throughout. We gave this presentation at Cedar Bog in August 2024.
